A joke? A prank? Or something more sinister?
When the Exham-on-Sea residents are targeted by anonymous emails containing apparently harmless nursery rhymes, no one knows whether to laugh or shudder until an unexplained death touches the town.

Libby Forest, baker, chocolatier and Exham’s very own resident private investigator, alongside her partner Max Ramshore, set out to solve the puzzle before more people die. But when Max’s ex-wife arrives on the scene, ahead of Max and Libby’s long-awaited nuptials, things go from bad to worse.

With the town and their relationship under threat, Max and Libby need the help of the Exham History Society if they’re going to find the nursery rhyme killer in time.

Introducing Frances Evesham…

One day I walked on a peaceful Somerset beach and discovered a unique nine-legged Victorian lighthouse. My first Agatha Christie-style murder mystery, Murder at the Lighthouse, was born that day. Like many of my readers, I love Sherlock Holmes, Miss Marple and Murder She Wrote, and the grand tradition of whodunnits with intriguing puzzles to solve, villains who must be brought to justice, and amateur private investigators. The Exham-On-Sea series is set in a small seaside town very like my own home, surrounded by the wonderful rolling hills of the West Country. It’s the perfect place to indulge my obsessions with beautiful places, cake and chocolate, overgrown dogs, and self-possessed cats. In my spare time I collect poison recipes and other ways of dispatching my unfortunate victims. I like to cook with a glass of wine in one hand and a bunch of chillies in the other, my head full of murder―fictional only. I love to hear from readers, so don’t be a stranger!

Happy reading! Frances

‘She brings Greek history to compelling life’ The Sunday Times

‘Hislop has done her research and handles the great sweep of complex Greek history with skill and confidence’ Daily Mail

Athens, 1941. Nazi forces occupy Greece … and a nation falls apart. Victoria Hislop’s NEW Sunday Times Number One bestseller takes you into the darker days of Greek history and, through the eyes of its extraordinary heroine, illuminates the courage it takes to live in peace.

After decades of political uncertainty, Greece is polarised between Right- and Left-wing views when the Germans invade.

Fifteen-year-old Themis comes from a family divided by these political differences. The Nazi occupation deepens the fault-lines between those she loves just as it reduces Greece to destitution. She watches friends die in the ensuing famine and is moved to commit acts of resistance.

In the civil war that follows the end of the occupation, Themis joins the Communist army, where she experiences the extremes of love and hatred and the paradoxes presented by a war in which Greek fights Greek.

Eventually imprisoned on the infamous islands of exile, Makronisos and then Trikeri, Themis encounters another prisoner whose life will entwine with her own in ways neither can foresee. And finds she must weigh her principles against her desire to escape and live.

As she looks back on her life, Themis realises how tightly the personal and political can become entangled. While some wounds heal, others deepen.

This gripping new novel from bestselling author Victoria Hislop sheds light on the complexity and trauma of Greece’s past and weaves it into the epic tale of an ordinary woman compelled to live an extraordinary life.

‘Funny, positive and life-affirming, Laura is like a PT for your self-confidence.’ SARA PASCOE

‘Clear-headed advice and relatable honesty.’ MATT HAIG

‘My favourite kind of book – like a glass of wine with your smart, funny friend.’ KATHERINE RYAN

‘When I was a kid the first album I owned was by Wilson Phillips. I remember the lyric from the song Hold On, ‘No one can change your life except for you’. It’s how I’ve chosen to live my life. There is a freedom when you take back control. Stop waiting for someone to save you and do it yourself. I recognise everyone has different levels of struggle but no one just hands you a chance. We don’t have to wait for Prince Charming to rescue us, or wait for the opportunity to come to us. We can be our own heroes. We can create our own dreams.’

Laura Whitmore knows lucky breaks come to those who are ready to step into their own power, even when they’re feeling nervous as hell about it. In No One Can Change Your Life Except For You, she shares her experiences of overcoming heartbreak, body image worries, self-doubt and insecurity.

Laura has learned that optimism, self-belief and learning to accept yourself, will bring you more than anyone else can ever give you. And she shows how her own struggles can help you through yours.

Frank, heartfelt, inspirational and funny, this is a book to remind you that the hero you are looking for is YOU.

‘Why me? How could a boy from a Copenhagen tower block say I want to be a champion with Manchester United and Denmark and make it happen?’Peter Schmeichel is a giant of football, who won more Premier League titles (five) than any player in his position and captained Manchester United in the incomparable, last-gasp Treble-clinching win over Bayern Munich in the 1999 Champions League final. ‘I don’t believe a better goalkeeper played the game,’ Sir Alex Ferguson said. One: My Autobiography is Schmeichel’s story. In it, he takes us inside the remarkable, winning environment of a club that transformed football during the 1990s, and on to the pitch on that crazy, breathless night in Barcelona in 1999. From Ferguson’s unique gifts to Eric Cantona’s unique personality, he delivers a close-up and insightful portrait of United’s golden era. However, One: My Autobiography goes way beyond the pitch.Schmeichel has an incredible family story to tell, starting with his father, Antoni, a brilliant Polish jazz musician who battled demons and for years kept a momentous secret from those around him. And he explores what he has been able to pass on to his own son, Kasper – himself a Premier League-winning goalkeeper and number one in the Danish national side.Peter’s life after football, seldom straightforward, is described with astonishing candour. One: My Autobiography is about football, origins, journeys and legacy.
