There’s more to every love story than what we choose to tell…

It’s spring and Lara’s three grown daughters have returned to the family orchard. While picking cherries, they beg their mother to tell them the one story they’ve always longed to hear – of the film star with whom she shared a stage, and a romance, years before.

Tom Lake is a meditation on youthful love, married love, and the lives parents lead before their children are born. Both hopeful and elegiac, it explores what it means to be happy even when the world is falling apart.

‘One of our greatest living chroniclers of love and marriage … Expect wonder; Patchett always delivers’ ELLE

Tom Lake was ranked #6 in UK TCM paperback charts week ending 9/6/2024

Hi Readers!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my books. I was inspired to write my first novel Stalker from a traumatic experience over twenty years ago, so my books lean towards darker themes, but don’t let that put you off.

I write gritty thrillers with female protagonists, clawing back control and seeking justice for the wrongs that have been done to them. Many of the characters I write about have been exploited in some way or are haunted by their past experiences.

I have always been fascinated by how easily life can spiral out of control as a result of one snap decision or a bad judgement call. How extraordinary things can happen to ordinary people in the blink of an eye and the consequences that follow.

All my books are standalone stories, written in first-person and set in the Surrey and Sussex areas.

Thank you for taking a look, be brave and dive into one of my fast-paced stories that will hopefully keep you gripped until the very last page.
