The Sunday Times Best Seller

Tim Marshall’s global best seller Prisoners of Geography showed how every nation’s choices are limited by mountains, rivers, seas and concrete. Since then, the geography hasn’t changed. But the world has.

In this revelatory new book, Marshall explores 10 regions that are set to shape global politics in a new age of great-power rivalry: Australia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Greece, Turkey, the Sahel, Ethiopia, Spain and space. Find out why Europe’s next refugee crisis is closer than it thinks as trouble brews in the Sahel; why the Middle East must look beyond oil and sand to secure its future; why the eastern Mediterranean is one of the most volatile flashpoints of the 21st century; and why the Earth’s atmosphere is set to become the world’s next battleground.

Delivered with Marshall’s trademark wit and insight, this is a lucid and gripping exploration of the power of geography to shape humanity’s past, present – and future.

As read by the author.

The brand new feel-good read from MILLION-COPY BESTSELLER Jessica Redland.

Could one chance meeting change your life forever?

Zara is at a crossroads in life. While she adores her job as a producer’s assistant working on hit TV shows, travelling around the country means she doesn’t truly feel that she has a home. With a fractured relationship with her family and unrequited love weighing heavily on her heart, she is torn about what her next step in life should be…

Snowy is hiding from the world. He’s devoted his life to home schooling his young son and caring for sick owls at his home, Owl’s Lodge, deep in the Yorkshire Wolds countryside. While he’s passionate about both, it’s a lonely existence and he’s starting to question his decisions. But how do you step back into a world you’ve pushed away for years…?

When Zara brings an injured owl to Owl’s Lodge, its frosty, reclusive owner is far from welcoming. Despite hostilities, there’s a connection that neither could ever have prepared themselves for. As they discover a shared passion, a new friendship blossoms, but both Zara and Snowy are used to shutting people out.

Can they both find the courage to open up and the strength to move on from their pasts? And what could this mean for their future happiness?

Hi there!

Thank you so much for looking at one of my books on Amazon and a very warm welcome to two gorgeous Yorkshire settings: Whitsborough Bay on the North Yorkshire coast and Hedgehog Hollow on the Yorkshire Wolds.

I write uplifting stories of love and friendship. You’ll meet some new friends who’ll raise a smile and perhaps draw a few tears. I adore my characters so, if you do find yourself reaching for the tissues, don’t worry because I promise I will never leave them without a heartwarming happy ending.

All my books work as complete standalone stories but some are part of a series and others are connected. The Welcome to Whitsborough Bay series and the Hedgehog Hollow series are best enjoyed when read in order and, if taking a trip to Castle Street at Christmas, I’d recommend Christmas at Carly’s Cupcakes before Starry Skies Over The Chocolate Pot Café.

I hope you decide to dive in and that you enjoy your visit to Yorkshire. Thanks again for looking.

Big hugs, Jessica xx

A SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER

‘Emily’s moving book is a powerful testimony that shines a light on the continued failure of health services to provide any kind of meaningful improvement for autistic people. Should be essential reading for mental health professionals and anyone with autism in their lives.’ – FERN BRADY, author of Strong Female Character

‘This book will bring so many readers self-recognition and comfort.’ – DEVON PRICE, author of Unmasking Autism

‘Vulnerable, affecting and deeply personal, this book will go from a message in a bottle to a rallying cry for many autistic women, girls and young people. We are not alone.’ – Elle McNicoll, bestselling author

‘A brilliant, thorough exploration of autistic experience, delivered with humanity, compassion and vivid clarity.’ – Pete Wharmby, author of Untypical

‘A magnificent read which manages to be informative, engaging, sad and uplifting all at the same time. Whether you’re discovering that you’re autistic yourself or you simply want to understand autistic people better, this is a must-read.’ – Cathy Wassell, CEO Autistic Girls Network charity & author of Nurturing Your Autistic Young Person

‘The book I wish I’d been able to read when I was younger.’ – Sarah Gibbs, author of Drama Queen

To the outside world, Emily looks like a typical girl, with a normal family, living an ordinary life. But inside, Emily does not feel typical, and the older she gets, the more she realises that she is different.
As she finally discovers when she is 16, Emily is autistic. Girl Unmasked is the extraordinary story of how she got there – and how she very nearly didn’t.

Still only 22, Emily writes with startling candour about the years leading up to her diagnosis. How books and imagination became her refuge as she sought to escape the increasing anxiety and unbearable stresses of school life; how her OCD almost destroyed her; how a system which did not understand autism let her down; and how she came so close to the edge that she and her family thought she would never survive.

In this simple but powerful memoir, we see how family and friends became her lifeline and how, post-diagnosis, Emily came to understand her authentic self and begin to turn her life around, eventually becoming a mental health nurse with a desire to help others where she herself had once been failed.

Ultimately uplifting, Girl Unmasked is a remarkable insight into what it can be like to be autistic – and shows us that through understanding and embracing difference we can all find ways to thrive.

The official book from Chris and Rosie Ramsey, stars of the phenomenally successful podcast.

Sh**ged

Saturday nights out on the tiles, undying crushes, dating like it’s a competitive sport, awkward tales of dating woes, one-night stands, the walk of shame, ghosting, tears and break-ups.

Annoyed

HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO TO BECOME ONE OF THEM?

When Hanna moves to Spain for an internship at the prestigious Prado gallery, she finds herself spending her days buried in the museum’s stifling archives, and her nights alone in a tiny rented flat.

Then one day she sees them; Tom, Samuel, and Leah. Glamorous and elegant, they are also foreigners in the city. But unlike her they are fabulously wealthy, their lives an endless whirl of creativity and hedonism. And when Hanna discovers an uncatalogued 17th century etching in the archive, she makes a decision which changes everything . . .

From the sultry streets of Madrid to the gleaming world of Mediterranean luxury villas and exclusive art world parties, as Hanna gets closer to her deepest desire, the stakes mount ever higher. Intoxicating and unputdownable, The Group is a timeless story of hidden identity and obsession.

A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

‘Ryan Holiday is a genius’ Chris Evans

‘[He] translates Stoicism … into pithy catchphrases and digestible anecdotes for ambitious, twenty-first-century life hackers’ New York Times

The inscription on the Oracle of Delphi says: ‘Nothing in excess.’ C.S. Lewis described temperance as going to the ‘right length but no further.’ Easy to say, hard to practice – and if it was tough in 300 BC, or in the 1940s, it feels all but impossible today. Yet it’s the most empowering and important virtue any of us can learn.

Without self-discipline, all our plans fall apart. Here, Ryan Holiday shows how to cultivate willpower, moderation and self-control in our lives. From Aristotle and Marcus Aurelius, to Toni Morrison and Queen Elizabeth II, he illuminates the great exemplars of its practice and what we can learn from them. Moderation is not about abstinence: it is about self-respect, focus and balance. Without it, even the most positive traits become vices. But with it, happiness and success are assured: the key is not more but finding the right amount.
